Miranda Clare is a singer/actress and is one of two female DeLorean owners in New Zealand. We're super excited to have Miranda as a client and fan of DeLorean Motor Company. She writes:
I always wanted a DeLorean as a child and knew that one day I would own one. The opportunity came up to test drive one back in 2007 and this fueled my passion for them further. A little over a year ago an un-roadworthy 1983 DeLorean came up for sale and after negotiating a good price VIN 17005 became mine!
It was registered as an "82 custom built 6-seater DeLorean" and after a battle with the authorities I remedied the errors! Then, a huge restoration (including all electrics) has brought the car back to her former glory and she turns heads all the time! Driving a DeLorean in New Zealand is great because our landscape is perfect for road trips. Where I live I can quite literally go from the beach to the base of snowy mountains in around 90 minutes. I have two friends close by
that also own DeLoreans as well as a tight knit group of DMC enthusiasts scattered around the country.
Thankfully my partner is very tolerant of my obsession and he has grown to love them as much as I do. I look forward to DMC bringing out the hover conversion kit in 2015 :)
