DeLorean Motor Company (Texas) aka “Classic DMC” of Humble, Texas regrets to announce the termination of our relationship with our former Midwestern territory dealer in Crystal Lake, Illinois owned by Mike and Suzy McElhattan.
Going forward, the McElhattans’ former DMC facility will only have limited access to DeLorean products, including parts, accessories, kits, and engine and suspension upgrades as provided by DeLorean Motor Company (Texas).
The McElhattans are now solely responsible for the parts sold by, and service performed prior to, this date. Additionally, any past or future parts/service warranty is solely the responsibility of Mike and Suzy McElhattan’s new enterprise.
“Mike expressed a desire to move into engine swaps and I told him that would be incompatible with the DeLorean Motor Company philosophy”, said Stephen Wynne, CEO of DeLorean Motor Company (Texas), “and Mike’s intransigence on the matter left me with no choice but to sever our relationship.”
“While this would most certainly not have been my choice, in order to protect the DeLorean automobile brand in the manner that I feel is most important to keeping original cars on the road for years to come, Mike and Suzy made their decision and I have made mine”, Stephen remarked. “There are no other engine options for the DeLorean that have the service network dedicated to them
than the original PRV. Over the years, our Stage I and Stage II performance upgrades for the PRV have proven to be the most popular, reliable - and most imitated - ever.”
DeLorean Motor Company (Texas) will be announcing more changes to our business model, pricing structure and more in the coming weeks.
