Stainless Steel Sailing

On April 20, 1981, the first batch of 379 DeLoreans left Belfast Harbor. Less than a month later, they would arrive in Long Beach, CA to be distributed to various dealerships nationwide. Today marks the 42nd anniversary of that departure!

While this historic moment is often overshadowed by other important DeLorean dates, achievements, etc.,  it’s important to remember how significant this event truly was for John DeLorean and his company. Against all odds, DMC managed to ship a large group of completed cars, ushering in the beginning of an automotive legacy that endured for decades.
