The "frit" is the dark, dotted gradient pattern along the edges of the windshield. Adding the frit helps to obscure any excess adhesive that might be visible after installation. Not only does this improve the aesthetics of the vehicle, but it also shields excess adhesive from the sun’s ultraviolet rays, preventing deterioration.
